The suggestions shown in the patient summary under the heading Potential differential diagnoses are generated by Red Robin, a tool which can be connected to the Visiba Care platform and used for automatically taking the patients' medical history and for triage purposes. Red Robin is based on a Bayesian network – an AI model created from a combination of data and human expertise that can be updated continuously according to previous outcomes, carefully verified by our medical team.
What are the probabilities based on?
The probabilities are based on two arguments:
- Individually tailored incidence rates, based on general incidence rates in UK and corrected for risk factors such as age, gender, lifestyle or underlying medical conditions.
- How well the diagnosis explains the symptoms described by the patient.
What do the dots mean?
The dots indicate Red Robin’s calculation of the likelihood of the given differential diagnosis.
Very likely.
Likely.
Quite likely.
Reasonable.
Not likely, but should be taken into account.
Please note:
Red Robin’s suggested diagnoses are intended for assistance and decision-making purposes only, by highlighting diagnoses that may be related to the patient's symptoms. The suggested diagnoses are based on the outcome in Red Robin, i.e. before any clinical examination, lab tests, X-rays etc. are performed. Red Robin is not intended to replace any healthcare practitioner’s clinical expertise and for that reason, the healthcare practitioner is always responsible for assessing and diagnosing the patient.
Feel free to contribute your expertise
By entering the diagnosis code and outcome after the patient consultation, you can help improve Red Robin’s accuracy over time. So, we would appreciate it if you could make it a standard part of your consultation routine to take the time to fill out these details every time. At any time, you can also leave comments on the medical history and triage for a particular case, which are directly forwarded to Visiba's medical team.
