In the next update of Visiba Care, which takes place during the early hours of Thursday, April 7th, we are pleased to present a piece of great news - the new video call. As part of the update, this will automatically replace the current video call function. Below you can read more about how the new video call looks and works and find a link to a short instructional video. At the end of this article, you will also get a glimpse of what is coming up later in April.
The new video call
The new video call will mean that healthcare professionals, and the patients and guests who use the web interface for the video call, can look forward to an even better way to meet. The view will be clear and more intuitive. The functionality is smarter, and the participant will receive a warning message if something should go wrong. In addition, it will now be possible to see up to ten participants in a picture at the same time! This is something we know many of you have requested. However, several basic functions will remain the same, making it easy to navigate the new interface.
The healthcare professional sees themself in the lower left of the image and the patient in the large image. They can also choose to enlarge their own image or hide it completely. In the chat, you can send text messages and files, e.g. photos, videos or documents. A thumbnail image is displayed when a file is uploaded to ensure that the correct file is attached.
In the multi-party call, the healthcare professional can see up to nine participants (patients, guests or colleagues) as well as themself in the picture at the same time. It's possible to choose whether to see the participants in gallery view, as in the image below, or in speaker view, where the person talking is shown in a large picture.
The field at the bottom has the following functions:
- Turn off the camera
- Mute the microphone
- Screen sharing – both healthcare professionals and patients who use the web interface can share screens.
- Chat - files sent in the chat are automatically saved both in the call and in the meeting view in the calendar (under the clipboard).
- More options – here it's possible to choose between gallery view or speaker view. Under Settings, audio and video settings are displayed, and here you can also test your microphone or speaker during the call.
- Hang up - leave the call or end it for all participants.
Should the participants headphones be disconnected during the call, another audio device will be switched on automatically. The user will see a message displayed, informing them about this. Warning messages are also displayed in some other scenarios, for example, if you talk while the microphone is muted or if there is a problem with your internet connection.
Note: after the launch of the new call, it will no longer be possible to enable automatic translation of the chat in Visiba Care.

Coming soon: Updated view to browse receptions in the patient web
When we launched step 1 for the new patient web in December, the patient could choose between searching for a reception, seeing their most recently visited clinics or browsing through all the organisation's receptions to find the right one. In connection with the update that we plan to release on April 28th, we are improving the third option - with an updated design, we make the scrolling view clearer, so the patient can quickly and easily find their way to the correct reception.
The structure of receptions will not be affected, and you do not need to do anything before the update. So you can sit back and just look forward to the current information being presented more straightforwardly to the patient!
You can read more detailed information in our release notes which are published with each update. You can also get an overview of the different user permissions each change applies to and the upcoming changes in the patient apps.
